In Summers carry light clothes for day time but also carry an Umbrella and a raincoat while in Istanbul and Trabzon and don’t forget a travelling sweatshirt in the eastern part of Black Sea zone. In the south, on the border with Syria, bring lightweight clothing of natural fibers, a and possibly a sweatshirt for outdoor.
Turkish Lira is the official currency of Turkey TRY. You may easily exchange EUR and USD, Pound Sterling.
Exchange can be done in banks easily but currency exchange shops in markets are recommended.
Coins of Turkish Lira are called Kurus
Coins are: Kr 5, 10, 25, 50 and 1 TL. Basically one Turkish Lira is equal to 100 Kurus. Banknotes are: 5, 10 , 20 , 50, 100 and 200
Credit cards are accepted. VISA cards are accepted all over followed by Mastercard and Eurocard. While Amex cards can be used at expensive hotels & restaurants.
ATMs are easily available.
